In 2020 we started on our most important journey yet, a journey towards a provable sustainable, ethical, carbon neutral business that is committed to its work force and the environment we live in.

It’s what we call our Sustainability Pledge — and it’s rooted in our belief that businesses can’t just say they’re sustainable, they have to prove it. That’s exactly what we’re doing through our Pledge:

To support the local community and local businesses

We want to support our community in the same way it supports us.

We work with nearby suppliers for our printing and deliveries, we give a local quiltmaker all our off-cuts, and we supply bedding to Healthier Heroes, a charity supporting ex-British Army personnel and their families.

To improve the health and wealth of our environment and employees

We've partnered with Planet Mark, who have been measuring our carbon footprint since 2021 — and will help us further reduce it in years to come.

We're independently checked by a health and safety expert every year — and we’re now a Living Wage Foundation employer.

To make more sustainable linens — and work with sustainable suppliers

With the recent launch of our Certified Organic Hemstitch Collection, we're helping people sleep better and sleep easier.

And by working with like-minded European suppliers, we're making our entire supply chain more sustainable — not just our products.

Our Pledge Partners

Being sustainable is never a solo effort, so we’ve teamed up with Pledge Partners to keep us on track.

The Royal Warrant Holders Association, BIID and The Walpole have been key supporters in our journey. We’ve been sitting on Royal Warrant Holder sustainability panels since 2020 and, with their help, we have officially partnered with the following three organisations:

Global Organic Textile Standard

The ultimate certification for sustainably produced organic textiles. They closely examine every step of our supply chain — from harvesting to labelling — so we’re always considering the environmental impact of what we make, and the social responsibility we have in how we make it.

The Soil Association

TSA is the only UK charity working across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. They’ll inspect our mill and manufacturing processes every year to make sure we're meeting their rigorous standards before certification.

Planet Mark

Started by Steve Malkin and Sir Tim Smit KBE (founder of The Eden Project) to halt climate change and embrace sustainability. Planet Mark will measure our carbon footprint and help us be a net zero business by 2025. They’ll also measure our social value and suggest ways we can improve it. Like The Social Association, Planet Mark will independently audit us every year to make sure we’ve earned their certification.
