Sustainability Pledge

Peter Reed is committed to making our products more ethical, our people happier and our planet healthier.

We call this our Sustainability Pledge - a commitment driven by our belief that businesses shouldn’t just claim to be sustainable; they must demonstrate it. Through our Pledge, that’s exactly what we’re doing.

To support the local community and local businesses

We are proud to support local businesses and suppliers, working with partners within a 20-mile radius of our Lancashire factory wherever possible. We donate our fabric off-cuts to a local craft shop, helping to reduce waste by giving materials a new purpose.

Alongside this, we are a patron to Healthier Heroes, providing bedding to a charity dedicated to supporting former British Army personnel and their families.

To improve the health and wealth of our environment and employees

We are certified by Planet Mark since 2021 and Positive Luxury since 2024, supporting our ongoing commitment to measuring our impact, reducing our environmental footprint and continuously improving our sustainability practices.

We undertake annual independent health and safety reviews and are proud to be a Living Wage employer, ensuring our team is supported and valued.

To make sustainable linens and work with sustainable suppliers

We believe true luxury is built to last. Our made-to-order approach allows us to create pieces with care and precision, reducing unnecessary production and ensuring every item is crafted with longevity in mind.

We work closely with trusted UK and European suppliers who share our commitment to ethical and responsible practices. We are certified by British Wool, members of UKFT, and Walpole, reflecting our dedication to British craftsmanship, quality and the future of luxury manufacturing.
